As part of the “Virtuosos of Medicine” Olympiad, a selection was made for the “Emergency Care” section.
The Tashkent State Medical University hosted the next stage of the “Virtuosos of Medicine” Olympiad, which included a student professional skills competition in the “Emergency Care” category.
The event aimed to develop the practical and theoretical competencies of future physicians in emergency medicine, as well as to strengthen their skills in rapid clinical assessment of a patient’s condition.
The competition program included three stages, and the tasks covered five key disciplines:
pediatric resuscitation, anesthesiology, resuscitation, traumatology, and emergency care.
🔹 Stages of the competition
Stage 1️⃣ – Practical Skills (BLS)
The first stage involved completing a practical task on Basic Life Support (BLS).
Participants demonstrated first aid skills for cardiac arrest using modern mannequins, simulation modules, and medical devices.
The jury assessed the correct execution of the algorithm, the effectiveness of compressions, and teamwork.
Stage 2️⃣ – Blitz Survey
In the second stage, students answered a series of questions covering all five competition areas.
This demonstrated not only the depth of their theoretical knowledge but also their ability to make quick decisions in urgent situations.
Stage 3️⃣ – Testing
The final stage consisted of computer testing with clinical situations of varying complexity.
Students solved problems on diagnostics, determining treatment strategies, and algorithms for providing care in critical conditions.
💬 Based on the results of all stages, participants demonstrated a high level of preparation, confidence, professionalism, and a genuine interest in their future medical profession.
The competition served not only as a test of knowledge, but also as a shining example of the practical application of acquired skills in conditions as close as possible to real clinical practice.
